Caring for Our Communities
Caring is one of Cenlar’s four core values. It begins with helping tens of thousands of your homeowners maintain their American Dream of homeownership. But homeownership is more than just paying a mortgage on time. Homeownership and strong schools are the backbone of healthy communities, including the ones where we work and live. We support both Habitat for Humanity and local schools in Arizona, Missouri and New Jersey. Here’s a look at some of our recent efforts.
Habitat for Humanity
Cenlar works with Habitat for Humanity each summer. In August, we donated two truckloads of office furniture. We also cleared out Habitat’s ReStore delivery trucks near our New Jersey headquarters. (ReStores are independently owned reuse stores operated by local Habitat for Humanity organizations.) Our interns reassembled donated furniture, unloaded rugs from the delivery trucks and brought the merchandise on to Habitat’s showroom floor. All funds received from the sale of these items go to benefit the Habitat’s mission and programs.
For example:
- $50 buys nails for one home
- $100 buys bathroom fixtures
- $250 buys an Energy Star window
- $500 purchases and installs the front and back doors
- $1,000 paints the interior and exterior of a house.
Back-to-School Drive
Cenlar donates back-to-school supplies at the beginning of each school year. We fill backpacks with supplies as well as single-sized snacks to augment breakfast and lunch. All donated items are provided to economically challenged children in the communities we serve. Due to the pandemic and employees working remotely, we facilitated their ability to donate by using yougivegoods.com, a New Jersey based nonprofit organization.
